Cinequest 19

This year, the 19th Cinequest opened on February 25th with Wake, and continued through March 8th.

I posted my planned schedule as I worked it out. As one step in preparing to do that, I attempted (with some help from Steve Rhodes) to find all of the feature length films on the Internet Movie Database, and the resulting list can be found here. Note that IMDb generally lists films with the title in the original language, whereas the Cinequest program is listed by the English titles.

Here’s the schedule for what I ended up seeing:

  • 2/25/2009 7:00pm: Wake—opening night film
  • 2/26/2009 7:00pm: The Market—Turkish drama
  • 2/26/2009 9:15pm: Dancers—Danish romantic drama
  • 2/27/2009 5:15pm: The Man Who Loved Yngve—Norwegian drama
  • 2/28/2009: Ran a 50K, and then decided to skip Cinequest and relax
  • 3/1/2009 1:45pm: The Necessities of Life—Canadian/Inuit drama
  • 3/1/2009 4:00: Fallen Angel—Christian rock documentary
  • 3/1/2009 7:15pm: Heart of Stone—high school documentary
  • 3/2/2009 6:15pm: The Tour—Serbian comedy/drama
  • 3/2/2009 9:00pm: Truffe—French Canadian strange but wonderful science-fiction, or whatever you want to call it, film
